New doors

New garage doors and openers, Hunter Valley

A new door is a twenty-year decision made in an afternoon. We measure the opening properly, talk through what the door will actually do all day, and quote in writing before anything is ordered.

Sectional, roller or tilt: what actually decides it

Most of the choice is made by the garage, not the catalogue. Headroom above the opening, the ceiling behind it, and what the space in front of the door does all day narrow the field before looks come into it.

General guidance from the doors we work on; the on-site measure decides the spec.

Colour, and the honest version of colour matching

The major Australian door makers roll their steel in the standard Colorbond range, so matching the roof or the fence is usually possible. What no honest trade will promise is a perfect match against weathered cladding: five summers of Hunter sun changes a colour. We bring the samples to the measure and show you the nearest options in the actual light the door will live in.

Openers and automation

  • Belt, chain and screw drive openers for sectional and tilt doors. Belt drives are the quiet choice when a bedroom shares a wall with the garage.
  • Tubular motors inside the drum for roller doors, on homes and sheds both.
  • Smart and Wi-Fi control, open, close and check the door from a phone, useful on a property where the shed is a paddock away from the house.
  • Battery backup, so a blackout does not lock the cars in.
  • Safety beams at the opening, standard on compliant automatic openers, per the Australian safety standard for garage door openers (AS/NZS 60335.2.95).

One thing we do not bend on: mains wiring for an opener is licensed electrical work in NSW (see the NSW electrical licensing rules), so that part of the job is done by a licensed electrician, confirmed on site as part of the quote. If a quote elsewhere is quiet about who does the wiring, ask.

We supply and fit doors and openers across the major Australian makes generally, chosen for the job rather than for a badge. We are not any maker's authorised dealer and do not pretend to be; that independence is what keeps the recommendation honest.

The red cord matters more than the horsepower: it is how the door keeps working the day the power does not.

Asked at the measure

How does pricing work?

In words, because we publish no prices: new doors are measured first, then quoted in writing, door, motor, fitting and any electrical work itemised. The quote stands before anything is ordered, and there is no deposit taken on a number you have not seen.

Can you do the shed at the same time as the house?

Yes, and it usually saves you money to bundle the visit. Shed doors are our lead trade; tally everything with the Door Muster and send it through as one enquiry.

Enquire

One operator for every door on the place

Tell us what the doors are doing and where the property is. We read every enquiry and phone you back to book a time that suits the place, whether that is one jammed spring or a whole site's door count.
